These children are unable to access medical resources in Mexico for treatment. Through a cooperative effort with Mexican authorities and various organizations in Juárez, México, Borderless Giving/Dar Sin Fronteras organizes a Day Clinic in Juárez where Mexican orthopedic physicians are met by Texas Tech Health Sciences Orthopedic Surgeons and El Paso Children’s Hospital nurses that cross over to Juarez to evaluate those patients. Once a child has been selected as a candidate for surgery, Mexican and American authorities provide a temporary permit for medical treatment for these candidates and their guardians. The candidates are then evaluated by an orthopedic specialist at Texas Tech Health Sciences Orthopedic Clinic in El Paso Texas to schedule the life-changing surgeries performed at El Paso Children’s Hospital. Within the past six years, Borderless Giving has impacted the lives of numerous patients through over 100 life changing surgeries; our program also provides post-surgery care, such as braces and physical therapy. The funds needed to perform these surgeries and procedures are raised entirely through donations and fundraising events that have been held in Juarez, Mexico and El Paso, Texas.
