The UMC & EPCH Foundation Volunteer Corps is comprised of a diverse group of El Pasoans age 8 and up that come together to dedicate their time, and make a difference for the patients, families and staff at University Medical Center and El Paso Children’s Hospital. The Volunteer Corps is responsible for event preparation and event support for Foundation fundraisers and events such as Milagro Gala, and Mariachis, Margaritas and Merienda and V.I.Pink. In addition to supporting Foundation events and activities,the Volunteer Corps manages Project CARE, a program that provides free medical equipment to patients in need, and the Compassionate Care Fund which provides basic needs to patients and families in crisis. The El Paso Health Car Seat Safety Program, also managed by the Volunteer Corps, works to improve safe travel for children in the greater El Paso area by holding monthly events where families can have their car seat checked and a new car seat provided if needed.
