The Society was founded in Arlington Texas, and was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It soon grew to become a statewide organization as new chapters were chartered in Houston and the Permian Basin. All four chapters (DFW, Houston, Permian Basin, and El Paso) hold regular events such as wine tastings, wine and food pairing dinners and seminars, and travel to grapegrowing areas of the world. Wine Society members are not “wine snobs,” but are people who enjoy learning about wine in a relaxed social setting. Persons with all levels of knowledge are welcome.
