Our family’s journey with First Presbyterian Schools started in the fall of 2017 when our youngest was diagnosed with a speech delay. It was recommended that we enroll her in a preschool program to assist with language and social development in addition to her already scheduled speech therapy. We toured several wonderful schools but fell in love at first sight with First Presbyterian. In addition to a wonderful staff and beautiful campus, we found a truly child-centered learning environment inspired by the Reggio Emilia method. Kennedy was able to join the school in the 2-year-old classroom and absolutely thrived each year she attended! We were so thankful for the new Elementary addition which allows her to continue her education with First Presbyterian Schools.
Part of the Reggio Emilia method includes certified outdoor classrooms in which play and exploration all go hand in hand to foster a deep love of learning. While the Preschool has been open since 1981 and already has 16 certified outdoor classrooms, the newly opened Elementary School opened in 2020 and we are all excited to foster an equally immersive space for this age group. The elementary children worked hard to earn funds for the Phase 1 fencing installed around their new play area, and we are excited to move forward to the design and construction phase! Our family is so grateful for First Presbyterian Schools and we are so excited to be a part of its growth. Any support you can offer is deeply appreciated!
