Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser Resources

Become a Lucha Champion

Turn your passion into impact by creating a peer-to-peer fundraiser for your favorite participating nonprofit during El Paso Giving Day.

Peer-to-peer fundraising allows individuals, families, friends, businesses, schools, and community groups to create a personalized fundraising page and invite people they know to give. By sharing why a nonprofit matters to you, you can introduce its mission to new supporters and help it reach its El Paso Giving Day goal.

Early Giving takes place October 8–14, and El Paso Giving Day is October 15, 2026.

How to Become a Lucha Champion

*Choose a nonprofit. Find a participating organization whose mission is meaningful to you. * Create your fundraising page. Personalize your page with your story, fundraising goal, and connection to the organization. * Set an achievable goal. Every donation makes a difference. Ten people giving $25 can help you raise $250, while ten people giving $50 can help you reach $500. * Share your story. Explain why you selected the nonprofit, why its mission matters to you, and what donations will help accomplish. * Invite your network to give. Share your page through personal texts, emails, phone calls, social media, workplace communication, and conversations with family and friends. * Thank your supporters. Celebrate every donation, share progress toward your goal, and thank the people who support your campaign. * Tips for a Successful Fundraiser * Make a list of at least 20 people you can personally contact. * Begin by asking a few close friends or family members to help your page gain momentum. * Include a personal story instead of only sharing a donation link. * Use photos or videos that demonstrate why the mission matters to you. * Contact people individually whenever possible. * Share progress updates and celebrate milestones. * Send a respectful reminder before Early Giving ends and again on El Paso Giving Day. * Thank your donors and let them know the final amount raised.

You do not need a large social media following to become a successful fundraiser. Personal messages to people who know and trust you can be more effective than a general social media post.
