I’m Christy Saldivar, and this year I’m proud to stand with the El Paso Coalition for the Homeless to support something close to my heart—our Diversion program.

Diversion isn’t your typical assistance program. It’s flexible, fast, and focused on keeping people housed. Whether it’s help with rent, a deposit, bus fare, or even work shoes for a new job, Diversion meets people where they are—before they fall into homelessness. Unlike many government grants, this program allows us to respond to real needs in real time.

💡 Picture this: A single mom is days away from eviction. A young couple needs help escaping unsafe housing. A father just needs boots to start work. These aren’t stories from far away—they’re happening right here in El Paso.

And we’ve seen the impact. Families stabilize. People rebuild. Some even call us months later just to say, “You helped me when no one else could.”

💖 Now I’m asking you to be part of that story.

On October 16, 2025, during the Milk & Cookies Power Hour (9–10 PM), we’re competing to get the most $10 donations. If we win, we’ll receive an extra $1,000 to help even more people. And if we get a donation from the furthest country from El Paso, we’ll earn another $500!
