Sup! My name is Samuel Aaron Rascon and if I had friends they would call me Sam - probably. I am the HMIS/Comp DB Admin here at El Paso Coalition for the Homeless. This is a call to action to help our communitY and fellow human beings through our Diversion program.

I already mentioned the name but I have no problem saying it again. It’s called Diversion and it helps people before they end up on the streets with rent, a deposit, bus fare, or tools for a new job. Unlike those other grants, Diversion is flexible with the aid that can sometimes be the difference between bigger issues and stability.

Picture someone’s dad dealing with an eviction, a daughter running from an unsafe housing situation, a brother just a pair of boots away from getting that job. These are real scenarios happening right now. We are all one inconvinience away from being in a similar situation.

Now I’m asking you to be part of that story.

On October 7, 2025, during the Milk & Cookies Power Hour (9–10 PM), we’re competing to get the most $10 donations. If we win, we’ll receive an extra $1,000 to help even more people. And if we get a donation from the furthest country from El Paso, we’ll earn another $500!Is it furthest going West or going East? I don’t know! Help me find out.
