Why I’m Fundraising for Rescue Runners 🐾❤️

If you know me, you know two things: I love running ridiculous distances, and I have a very hard time saying no to a dog who needs help. 😂

That’s why Rescue Runners has become such an important part of my life.

Most people know Rescue Runners for getting dogs out of El Paso Animal Services for runs, walks, hikes, pup cups, and adventures. Those outings give shelter dogs a much-needed break from their kennels, help us learn who they are outside of the shelter environment, and—most importantly—help them get seen by potential adopters.

But Rescue Runners does so much more behind the scenes.

They support fosters with supplies. They help other local rescues find and coordinate fosters. They organize and support adoption events. They help make sure dogs get walked, transported, and make it to vet appointments. And when a dog needs a little extra help getting noticed, they step in there too.

I recently experienced that firsthand with my foster, Louie (formerly Eel). Louie had spent most of his puppyhood at El Paso Animal Services and was struggling in the shelter environment. Rescue Runners helped us create content for a reel specifically to get Louie more visibility in our community and show people the sweet, goofy dog we were getting to know outside of his kennel.

That’s what I love about this organization. When there is a dog who needs something, they find a way to help.

For El Paso Giving Day, I’m raising money so Rescue Runners can continue being that resource for shelter dogs, fosters, rescues, and our entire El Paso animal-welfare community.

Every donation helps create more runs, more adventures, more foster support, more adoption opportunities, and ultimately, more dogs getting the chance to find their people. 🐾
