My name is Cristina Calvillo-Rivera and I’m proud to be one of the founding members of the Frontera Pride Legacy Fund—a new giving circle built for and by El Paso’s LGBTQ+ community, with allies alongside us. 🌈

If you’re wondering what a giving circle is, it’s a simple idea: people pool their contributions to make a bigger impact together. Our members vote each year on which initiatives to fund, putting community voices at the center of community giving.

As organizers, nonprofit leaders, and neighbors, we’ve seen the challenges our LGBTQ+ community faces in health, housing, mental health, and employment. We’ve also seen our community’s resilience, creativity, and care for one another.

We want to build a lasting source of support for that community. That’s why “Legacy” is part of our name: we’re creating something future generations can carry forward.

We’re growing the fund throughout 2026 and will announce our first award in 2027, with the Paso del Norte Community Foundation as our fiscal home.
