I am choosing to fundraise for Rebuilding Together El Paso (RTEP) as I’ve seen how important their work is firsthand. My first volunteer event with RTEP during an Event Day in 2021. That was a great opportunity to see how much they help the community from painting to landscaping homes of the elderly, disabled, and veterans. We also started the SHEBuilds ‘n Drills workshops which taught middle school girls basic home repair skills such as drywall repair and how to repair a leaking toilet. I have heard feedback from parents who said that their daughter actually was able to repair a leaking toilet in their home! This workshop not only provides basic home skills but it also instill confidence and the “I can do it” attitude. RTEP also provides a SHEBuilds workshop which consists of modules such as dealing with electricity safely, carpentry work, tiling, and so much more. RTEP believes in providing the necessary tools to learn these valuable life tools and they are there to assist our community in so many ways.
