WE HAVE HOPE / TENEMOS ESPERANZA
During a recent meeting with Pope Leo XIV in Rome, he shared, “I was struck at the beginning (of the video), it talks about the feeling of powerlessness, which I think is so much. I think it’s so important that we as a church give a message of hope in the midst of these horrible struggles, what’s going on in so many cities in the United States right now. At least the church cannot be silent.”
WE CANNOT BE SILENT Please help me in my support of the Hope Border Institute.
I was born in the Philippines on April 29, 1972, and I’m the youngest of seven children. Following my ordination to the priesthood in 1997, I began my ministry at St. Patrick Cathedral in El Paso and Our Lady of Peace in Alpine and then served as pastor of Santa Lucia and St. Raphael. I worked as the Vicar General, Moderator of the Curia, Judicial Vicar, and Chancellor for the Diocese of El Paso before Pope Francis appointed me an auxiliary bishop on February 8, 2023.
I am very proud to call El Paso home.
