As the President oof WE HIKE, community involevment has always been a passion for me. I have been hiking since 2017. I tried it out a year before and I loved that hiking expelled more energy than walking alone. When I moved to the area in 2017, I got very involved in hiking and wanted to learn as much as I could, so I did. I started traveling, learned to camp, which was a never thought of thing before in my life.

Along the way, I grew to love hiking and wanted to continue to challenge myself and help others get involved. It started out by talking neighbors out who never thought that they could walk in the desert, then groups, then trips and more. I knew I wanted to have a meaningful impact with the community and help people and show them the way no matter how little or much they walked, hiked or moved.

I’ve seen firsthand the power of outdoor activities to keep people engaged, learn new ways of life, appreciate the desert surroundings, become educated, and lead healthier lives. With years of experience as a hiking curator, as I’ve dedicated my time to leading hikes, trips and activities that inspire and make dreams come true, I wanted to provide a way, especially for underserved and youth, in our community to have these experiences, learn and adventure, without burdening families with fees, financial responsibility, or stress of not being able to participate.
