I fundraise for the YMCA because I believe that every child, every family, and every generation deserves a place where they can feel safe, supported, healthy, and connected to their community.

The YMCA is more than a gym, they provide safe after-school programs, youth sports, camps, and opportunities that help children build confidence, friendships, and healthy habits. Most importantly, a family’s financial situation shouldn’t determine whether their child gets to participate. Through income-based financial assistance, the YMCA works to make its programs, membership, and services accessible to everyone with no child getting left behind because of their financial situation.

Additionally, the YMCA’s commitment to water safety goes beyond teaching children how to swim. Their Safety Around Water program teaches children what to do if they unexpectedly find themselves in the water to help build confidence and potentially life-saving skills.

The YMCA understands that healthy communities should include every generation. In a time when loneliness and social isolation can affect older adults so deeply, having a place to go, people to see, a sense of community makes all the difference. The YMCA has created a space for older adults to stay active and connected through programs like Silver Sneakers and community gatherings.

When we invest in the YMCA, we invest in people. We are helping create opportunities for children to grow in a safe and healthy environment and develop confidence in sports and swimming. We are investing in creating spaces that help seniors live healthier lives and feel connected to their community. When we invest in the YMCA, we help build a community for all.
