The scholars and families of the Challenge Program are extraordinary. Each of their circumstances are unique, what each do have in common is the desire and drive to graduate from Loretto, be college ready, and enter the college of her choice. Many are first in their family to graduate college. Our vision is that each scholar does so with confidence. Confidence, that is learned and grown from her experiences with the program. Confidence to use her voice, to seek out resources, and to live her best life. I am reminded of a quote from Maya Angelou, “If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.” It is a long term commitment for the scholar and her family, her mentor, her educators, all of us who are involved with the program.

It’s an honor and privledge to take part in each schohlar’s journey. It fills my heart as each scholar comes into her own. Recognizing her own gifts and talents, and living from her strengths.
