Many people think the museum is merely a collection of artifacts from the Holocaust. In fact, it is a classroom for future generations. Every year, young people come through its doors, many of them learning for the first time what hatred, prejudice, and indifference can do when left unchecked. They leave with more than knowledge — they leave feeling responsibile for standing up to intolerance and defending human dignity.

Through the museum’s exhibits, lectures, and school programs, young people learn lessons that are increasingly important in times of growing misinformation and intolerance.
