Hello everyone,

I was an ICU nurse in 2017 when I suffered two strokes. I have seen as a nurse how debilitating to a patient and their families a stroke or brain injury can be and now I’m experiencing it directly. I joined the El Paso Aphasia Connection Center last year and it’s been only positive experiences I highly recommend it to anyone suffering from aphasia. Aphasia is a disorder that affects how you communicate. It can impact your speech, as well as the way you write and understand both spoken and written language. Aphasia usually happens suddenly after a stroke or a head injury. This group run by a speech therapist, Jacqueline, offers free virtual weekly meetings which provides speech therapy for individuals. It helps people meet individuals with similar obstacles reintegrate socially into the community. Anything is appreciated. Please help more people receive these services. Blessings.
