As a fifth-generation El Pasoan, giving back to the community that has given so much to my family has always been deeply important to me. But my work with Habitat for Humanity El Paso has shown me firsthand just how life-changing a safe, comfortable place to call home can be.

I have had the privilege of standing beside families as they receive the keys to their new homes and watching the moment they realize, this is ours. I’ve seen children walk into bedrooms they can finally call their own, and parents feel the relief of knowing their family has a safe and stable place to grow.

These homes are so much more than walls and a roof. They provide security, dignity, comfort, and the opportunity for a new beginning. Every family we serve reminds me why this work matters and why I am so passionate about Habitat’s mission.

In the past year, I’ve been incredibly proud to help Habitat El Paso build two homes—and with them, two new futures for local families. But there are still so many families in our community waiting for their opportunity.

That is my why.
