Every wagging tail and gentle purr has a story. At A Home to Bark and Purr, we believe every animal deserves the opportunity for that story to have a happy ending.

Our rescue was built on a simple belief: every companion animal deserves love, safety, and a place to call home. What began as a grassroots effort to help animals in need has grown into a community of fosters, volunteers, adopters, donors, and supporters who share one goal, giving animals a second chance.

For many of the dogs and cats who come into our care, their journey begins during a difficult time. Some have been abandoned, surrendered, or found without a safe place to go. We step in to provide the care they need, from food and a safe environment to veterinary care, vaccinations, spay and neuter services, and, most importantly, the time and love they need while waiting for their forever families.

But rescue is about more than finding homes. We believe lasting change happens when a community comes together. Through adoption, fostering, education, outreach, and responsible pet ownership, we work to help reduce animal homelessness and create a more compassionate future for pets throughout El Paso.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we cannot do this work alone. Every foster who opens their home, every volunteer who gives their time, every family who chooses to adopt, and every donor who supports our mission becomes part of an animal’s story.

There are still so many animals waiting for their second chance. With the support of our El Paso community, we can continue being there when they need us.
