Causes: Education, Health and Mental Well-being
The Ann and Matt Fennell Scholarship Fund was created to celebrate the legacy of Ann and Matt and their deep belief in the power of education and community.
Ann’s journey began at St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Elmira, N.Y., where she became a surgical nurse at Georgetown Hospital in Washington, D.C. Her heart eventually brought her back to Elmira, where she married Matt and started their life together. Ann and Matt made El Paso their home in 1977 with their 10 kids.
From Matt founding a Cuidad Juarez division of Westinghouse Electric to Ann going back to school to renew her nursing certification, they poured their energy into their family and the community they loved.
Moved by Ann’s dedication to nursing and the compassion shown by the nurses who cared for them in their final years, the family is proud to offer this scholarship to support the next generation of nurses. This is their way of continuing Ann and Matt’s legacy of kindness, hard work, and care for others.
The Ann and Matt Scholarship Fund is for students pursuing Traditional BSN or RN to BSN degrees at The University of Texas at El Paso and the Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing.
