Scouting America- High Desert Council
" We Strengthen Families" Scouting is more than just an activity—it’s an adventure, a family, and a journey that builds character, leadership, and a lifetime of memories. The High Desert Council proudly serves over 2,700 youth members who are dedicated to achieving mountain-top experiences through leadership development and some of the most amazing outdoor adventures they'll ever have. Scouting exists because of people like you who believe in the power of youth and the importance of making a difference. With your support, we will ensure that our camps, programs, and leadership opportunities remain strong and relevant, giving Scouts the tools they need to reach their full potential. Join us in empowering future leaders and creating life-changing opportunities through Scouting. Your gift today will help ensure that every Scout has access to the resources and experiences they need to thrive. Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us build a brighter future!

Causes: Children and Youth, Education, Health and Mental Well-being

The High Desert Council serves Scouts in West Texas, the majority of New Mexico, and Southwestern Colorado as well as over 1,000 registered members. Additionally, the Council supports 4 camps, Camp Tyler Francis in Sunland Park, Camp Dale Ressler in Cloudcroft, Gorham Scout Ranch in Chimayo, and Campbell Scout Ranch in Sandia Park. In order for the Council to function effectively, things like volunteer training, insurance coverage, administrative needs, recognition for our volunteers, camp equipment and staff support must all be addressed. The Investment in Character and Leadership Campaign is the council’s outreach to our community to support these objectives and ensure our kids receive the best program possible. On behalf of the over 2,700 registered youth and 1,000 registered adult volunteers, THANK YOU for your support!
