Braden lived his life with humility and compassion. During his lifetime, Braden developed a close personal relationship with God, family and friends, and never compromised their importance. Braden had a great sense of humor that was personified in his beautiful smile and his gut-wrenching laugh. Always the inclusive type, Braden championed the less fortunate, especially when it came to middle school athletics and social events. Braden was 14 years old when he passed away on Super Bowl Sunday, February 4th, 2007. The family’s unexpected loss prompted them to reflect on his life in terms only befitting of an old soul. Braden was an athlete, an excellent student, a prankster and a loyal friend. He was a sensitive and compassionate friend, with an uncanny ability to get the best out of his relationships. Braden’s spirit is the catalyst behind 19 years of the foundation’s many programs, which include the B WARM Blanket Drive, Bags 2 School Backpack Drive, B Strong Grants, UTEP Scholarships, the annual B Strong Shoe Giveaway, the AD-IN Tennis Program, and the BFIT BHYDRATED program. Braden’s legacy has made a profound impact on this community, which should be acknowledged as a continuation of his love of life, his friendships, his family and his sense of fairness and compassion.
