Casa Magoffin Companeros
The Casa Magoffin Compañeros, or the CMC, formed in 1992 as 501(c)3 non-profit friends group to the Magoffin Home State Historic Site. We have served as advocates for the preservation of the Home. Over the years, We have raised and provided funds for restoration projects, educational programming, and events to ensure that El Paso's history is never lacking for resources. We have assisted with outreach programs, school tours, and educational workshops. In essence, if you have enjoyed time at the Magoffin Home then you have enjoyed the hospitality and passion of the CMC.

Causes: Arts and Culture, Education

Our Landmark Renovation! For nearly 150 years, the Magoffin Home State Historic Site has stood as a proud symbol of El Paso’s vibrant, multicultural borderland heritage. Today, this treasured adobe homestead is at a pivotal crossroads. We have embarked on an extensive, multi-million-dollar restoration project to preserve its historic walls for the next century. Because the main historic home (1120 Magoffin Ave.) is temporarily closed for these crucial renovations, we need our community’s passion and support now more than ever. While our structures are being carefully restored, our mission to educate and inspire never stops. The Magoffin Home Visitor Center remains fully open right across the street at 1117 Magoffin Ave., continuing to serve as a bustling hub for community education, lectures, and cultural events. But to keep these public programs alive and to safeguard our region’s history during this transition, we rely on people like you.

Why Your Support Matters Right Now

Behind this monumental preservation effort is Casa Magoffin Compañeros (CMC), a non-profit organization dedicated to keeping our history alive. Your contribution directly funds:

• Artifact & Archive Care: Securing and meticulously preserving fragile historic family photographs, textiles, maps, and artwork during active construction.

• Educational Programming: Sustaining the vital heritage education and community outreach programs that connect local school children to their unique history right across the street at our Visitor Center (1117 Magoffin Ave.)

• Sustaining Outreach: Providing the critical resources needed to maintain public operations and protect our region’s history during this transitional construction phase
