Causes: Advocacy, Animals, Environment

Cat Rescue Corporation was established as a non-profit organization in 2006. During that time, there was a significant number of stray and feral cats roaming the campus of the University of Texas at El Paso and surrounding residential neighborhoods. The need to spay, neuter and provide care for the cats in this area of the city was the catalyst for organizing the corporation to assist in providing these services. Cat Rescue Corporation, with the help of volunteers, has reduced the population of feral cats considerably. It continues today to provide food, shelters, veterinary care, and TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) for feral cats.

With TNR, cats are trapped in the community and transported to a veterinarian, spayed or neutered, and have one ear clipped for easy identification. Once the cats recover, they are returned to the community where they were found. A medical evaluation is also performed on the cats and medical attention is given as needed, including antibiotics, medications, and wound treatment.

Cat Rescue Corporation does not have a shelter facility but does assist fosters to care for homeless and stray cats until they find their furr-ever home.
