Causes: Advocacy, Children and Youth, Education
“What do you want your future to look like?” For some children, college feels familiar. They have parents, relatives or friends who can explain how it works. For others, that path may feel completely unknown.
That is why CommUNITY en Acción created the Young Achievers Forum and since 2012, CEA has brought more than 13,000 sixth-grade students and their families from El Paso and Hudspeth Counties onto college campuses and introduced them to possibilities they may never have imagined for themselves.
Students don’t just hear someone say, “You can go to college.”
They walk onto a university campus. They meet people working in medicine, business, STEM, education and other careers and many may have come from backgrounds much like their own.
We want them to leave thinking: “I can do this. I can go to college. I can build a career. I can create a different future for myself and my family.”
That is the power of opportunity. That is the power of exposure. That is the power of the Young Achievers Forum.
This El Paso Giving Day, every dollar you give will be matched by Dr. Richard Castro, doubling your impact. Becasue when we come together, one act of generosity can open a door, inspire a future and change a life.
