Our 14 unique therapy horses are the heart of the Compadres Therapy, Inc. equine assisted services and represent 12 different horse breeds. Their well-being is essential to providing the best possible interactions and experiences for individuals who need it the most. However, maintaining the health and comfort of these incredible therapy horses comes with significant costs.
Each therapy horse requires daily feed, specialized nutritional supplements, regular veterinary visits, farrier services for hoof care, and appropriately maintained shelters. While we do our best to manage these expenses, the ongoing costs of maintaining our therapy horse herd rose 80% this last year. This increase has been overwhelming and we are now asking for community support.
Please consider making a donation this El Paso Giving Day to sponsor (partial or total) one of our therapy horses. It costs $6000 annually to maintain one therapy horse and a donation in any amount toward their care would be greatly appreciated! To leverage our funding goal of six therapy horse sponsorships, a $5000 Matching Gift has been given to Compadres Therapy, Inc. from the Andrea Dorsey Kirs Legacy Fund to help us meet our funding goal - thank you!
By donating, you become a part of a compassionate community committed to supporting these therapy horses and the individuals who benefit from their interactions. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us to continue our purpose of enriching lives through education and experiences provided by the healing power of the horse.
We invite you to meet one of our special therapy horses - Haley. Please follow this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/13bSmjnwHNggRyeDlGrzizj0jdmGGUZYw/view?usp=sharing
