El Paso Alliance, Inc.
El Paso Alliance Inc. (Recovery Alliance of El Paso) is a recovery community organization made up of people with lived experience of addiction, homelessness, and re-entry. We meet people at our drop-in center, in the El Paso County jail annex, in DWI Court, at Casa Vida and Alas Nuevas, and on the streets with our outreach team.

Causes: Health and Mental Well-being, Homelessness and Housing, Substance Abuse Prevention

Nadie Pelea Solo — No One Fights Alone Recovering from drug and alcohol addiction is a fight, and no one should have to step into that ring alone. At El Paso Alliance Inc. (Recovery Alliance of El Paso), our staff have been in the ring. We’ve been hit hard, knocked down, and have lost many rounds, but we never gave up hope, and we’ve gotten back up with the help of peer support. Now we’ve shown ourselves, our families, and our community that it is possible to win the fight against addiction. Today, that lived experience through addiction and now recovery brings hope to everyone who walks through our doors. We work with no stigma. no judgment, and compassionate acceptance to be a lifting hand. Our drop-in center sees about 1,000 visits every month. For many people, it’s the last place on the block where they’re welcome. They can grab a snack, rest in our respite area, take a shower, do laundry, and pick up clean clothes from our clothing closet. Then they can sit down with a recovery coach, get re-entry support after jail or prison, and get connected to medication for opioid use disorder, mental health, SUD treatment, housing, and health care. When someone is ready for round two, we’re in their corner for that too, with our residential support programs at Casa Vida and Alas Nuevas. Our outreach team meets people where they are, engaging and supporting unhoused neighbors and people living with substance use disorder across El Paso. On the street, there’s no bell. No corner, no ref, no break between rounds. Many of the people we serve have been fighting for so long they don’t even know they’re in a fight. When someone says they’re ready, our team can get them straight to detox. We work alongside partner organizations throughout the city, so no one falls through the ropes. An overdose is a knockout punch. Naloxone stops the count and gives people their second wind, literally, by helping them breathe again. Across the country, overdose deaths are finally falling, and we believe naloxone is a big reason why. But just across the state line in New Mexico, people are still getting knocked out, and too many aren’t getting back up. Here on the border, this fight isn’t over. As the Region 10 naloxone distribution hub, we put this life-saving medicine in the corner of everyone who needs it. Sometimes our peer specialists are the first ones on the scene when someone goes down. Other times, we’re the ones people come to the next day to tell what happened. We are first responders. Your gift keeps someone in their corner. Get in the ring with us this El Paso Giving Day.
