El Paso Center for Diabetes
Founded in 1968, the El Paso Center for Diabetes is one of only a handful of local, independent, nonprofit organizations in the nation dedicated to providing comprehensive diabetes management, prevention, and support programs. El Paso currently has the highest rate of type 2 diabetes in the country, with 15% of the population diagnosed as of 2023. Our mission at the Center is to educate and empower our community to achieve a healthy life throughout the diabetes journey. Your support allows us to continue offering the Paso del Norte region essential services such as free A1C screenings, diabetes self-management education, medical nutrition therapy, free youth camps for kids and teens with type 1 diabetes, and much more. This year, we have the honor of receiving two matching gifts totaling $7,000 thanks to the de Wetter Family Charitable Foundation and a generous anonymous donor. This means that for every dollar raised, we are getting matched up to $7,000! We hope that you will help us reach our goal and contribute to our mission of supporting and empowering those living with diabetes in our community!

Causes: Education, Health and Mental Well-being

The El Paso Center for Diabetes first opened its doors in Mrs. Estelle Goodman’s garage in November of 1968 as a means to provide support for families with children with type 1 diabetes. El Paso Center for Diabetes has taken a leadership position in diabetes management in El Paso, Texas, as one of a handful of nationally accredited diabetes programs within the region. Your support during this campaign allows us to continue and expand our work in the community so that every person diagnosed with diabetes feels supported on their journey to better health!
