Leadership El Paso Class 47 Funding for Jr. Leadership
For nearly five decades, Leadership El Paso has shaped the professionals and civic leaders who drive this city forward. Our Class 47 community project carries that legacy one generation further: we are working to bring back Junior Leadership El Paso, a program that gave high school students across El Paso County a year-long immersion in leadership, civic engagement, and community service. The program ran for 17 successful cohorts before being paused during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it has not returned since. We intend to change that. Our goal is to raise $100,000 by December 5, 2026, enough to relaunch Junior LEP not as a one-time experiment, but as a sustainable program serving the next generation of El Paso leaders for years to come. Contributions can be made through the El Paso Chamber Foundation, a 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit dedicated to supporting the Chamber's mission and the long-term business growth and success of our community. Whether you're a Chamber member or simply someone who believes in El Paso's future, your support helps ensure that the next generation of leaders gets the foundation they deserve.

Leadership El Paso (LEP), our nationally recognized (Stevie® Awards) program, has directly empowered 1,500 leaders since 1977. The El Paso Chamber’s flagship program has been dedicated to fostering leadership excellence, and the journey of each cohort stands as a testament to this mission. Participants engaged in interactive sessions and community projects, gaining insights into key regional issues and building strong professional connections.

Program Highlights:

Immersive Learning Experience: Over the course of a year, participants meet monthly to gain a comprehensive understanding of the major sectors, organizations, businesses, and programs shaping the El Paso region.

Engagement with Changemakers: LEP participants have the unique opportunity to connect with influential leaders and decision-makers who are driving progress in the borderland community.

Leadership Development: The program offers specialized training sessions led by regional experts to help participants hone their leadership skills and maximize their impact.

Networking Opportunities: LEP participants will collaborate with key stakeholders across diverse industries, fostering valuable relationships that extend beyond the program year.

Class Project: A hallmark of the Leadership El Paso experience is the class project. Each cohort is tasked with conceptualizing and implementing an initiative that delivers lasting, positive change for the community. This collaborative effort embodies the spirit of service and innovation that defines LEP.

Legacy of Leadership: Upon graduation, Leadership El Paso alumni are encouraged to continue their journey of growth and community engagement. Alumni are pivotal in: * Educating Peers: Sharing knowledge about the challenges and opportunities in El Paso. * Driving Change: Acting as catalysts for leadership, leveraging the diversity of their experiences to strengthen the community.
