El Paso Council of the Blind
El Paso Council for the Blind has served as a voice for independence and empowerment for El Pasoans who are blind or visually impaired. Members advocate for disability rights by participating in various local and state communities. Throughout the year, the Council holds various events and trainings that promote community integration and inclusion. Past events and training workshops include: Braille for Badges, sensitivity training for paratransit drivers, guide dog meet and greet sessions, an Easter Basket giveaway and Holiday meal for children and families of children that are blind or visually impaired; Christmas celebration dinner, accessible voting awareness, iPhone and iPad training camps, and various fundraising activities.

Our Mission The mission of the El Paso Council of the Blind of to improve the quality of life of the citizens of El Paso who are blind and visually impaired through advocacy and proactive participation in the areas of education, employment, civil rights , and social inclusion.

Our Vision The Council’s Members and Board of Directors are committed to enhancing community inclusion, ensuring equal access to physical infrastructures; eliminating discrimination based on disability and improving quality of life for people with blindness and low vision.
