Our Story: A Legacy of Service, A Future of Hope
Every community has people who see a need and choose to act. At the El Paso Five Points Lions Club, that commitment to helping others is what brings us together.
Our story is one of neighbors helping neighbors, friendships built through service, and ordinary people coming together to make an extraordinary difference.
As part of Lions Clubs International, our club carries forward a tradition of humanitarian service inspired by Helen Keller’s historic challenge to Lions in 1925 to become “Knights of the Blind.” Today, that commitment to vision remains at the heart of our mission, but our service extends far beyond it.
Bringing Vision and Hope to Our Community
Imagine a child struggling to see the board at school, unaware that their vision may be affecting their ability to learn. Through our free community vision screenings, we help identify potential vision concerns and encourage families to seek the care their children need.
Our Lions volunteer at schools, health fairs, neighborhood events, and community gatherings to make vision services more accessible to children and adults.
But our work doesn’t stop there.
Fighting Hunger, One Family at a Time
We believe no family should have to face hunger alone. Through food drives, partnerships with local food pantries, and hands-on volunteer projects, our members help provide food and essential supplies to individuals and families experiencing difficult times.
Whether assembling food boxes, collecting donations, or supporting community organizations, our Lions demonstrate that service is not measured by the size of a donation, but by the lives it touches.
Giving Children the Opportunity to Thrive
One of the most meaningful causes we support is Texas Lions Camp, which provides eligible children with disabilities, diabetes, cancer, and other qualifying needs the opportunity to experience summer camp at no cost to their families.
At camp, children discover new friendships, build confidence, develop independence, and experience the joy of belonging.
Our club proudly helps connect families with these opportunities because every child deserves the chance to experience adventure, friendship, and acceptance.
Serving Beyond a Single Cause
Our commitment also extends to diabetes awareness, childhood cancer initiatives, environmental stewardship, and community partnerships.
From neighborhood cleanups and holiday outreach to supporting families facing medical and financial hardships, our members continue finding new ways to serve.
Our annual Dinner in the Dark fundraiser also brings our community together to raise awareness about visual impairment while supporting charitable initiatives that make a meaningful impact.
More Than a Club, We Are a Family of Service
What makes the El Paso Five Points Lions Club special is not simply the projects we complete. It is the people behind them.
Our members come from different professions, backgrounds, and generations, but we share one purpose: making life better for others.
We give our time, our resources, and our hearts because we believe a stronger El Paso begins with people willing to care.
Your Gift Becomes Someone’s Hope
When you donate to the El Paso Five Points Lions Club, you are investing directly in our ability to serve.
Your generosity can help us expand vision screenings, support hunger relief efforts, promote childhood cancer and diabetes initiatives, protect our environment, and reach more children and families through meaningful community programs.
This El Paso Giving Day, we invite you to be part of something bigger.
Because when we come together, a simple act of generosity can become a lifetime of impact.
We are the El Paso Five Points Lions Club. We are neighbors. We are volunteers. We are Lions.
And together, We Serve.
