Causes: Children and Youth, Health and Mental Well-being
The El Paso Hockey Association was established in 2001 as a youth hockey program aimed to teach kids how to skate. After the now defunct Buzzards hockey team folded, there was a need for a local skating program. As the association grew, youth teams were added and eventually, in 2006, the El Paso Rhinos Junior hockey team was born. Twenty years later, the El Paso Hockey Association boasts over 600 kids in the youth programs, over 300 adults, and countless others in travel hockey, special needs skating, figure skating, and much more! The goal is to keep participants active and engaged on the ice- whether it’s youth tournaments, school skating visits, Holidays on Ice events, or Science on Ice- the free educational program we put on for local schools. Being the only rink in the near surrounding area, EPHA serves people from Texas, New Mexico, and Mexico!
