FirstLight Community Foundation
The mission of the FirstLight Community Foundation is to elevate individual and community financial wellness. The FirstLight Community Foundation provides financial literacy education to children in our community as well as scholarships to young adults in the El Paso, Ft. Bliss & Las Cruces communities. We do this by cultivating partnerships with local schools/universities, trade and technical schools to provide financial education; collaborating through outreach programs with community and non-profit organizations to build financial awareness; and empowering through grantmaking and member contributions to provide educational scholarships to El Paso, Fort Bliss, and Las Cruces graduates. Scholarship Program

Whether a two or four-year program through college, a university, or technical school, our volunteers are motivated to raise funds and awareness to assist our future leaders. Through your generosity, the foundation asks for your continued support so we can enable our young leaders in El Paso and Dona Ana County the the opportunities they deserve.

This year twenty six community scholarships and nine FirstLight Federal Credit Union dependent scholarships were awarded, for a total of thirty-five $1,000 dollar scholarships. The foundation increased its funding through fundraising efforts like El Paso Giving Day.

The FirstLight Community Foundation’s mission is to elevate individual and community financial wellness. Through our people, community, and our industry partners, we cultivate, we collaborate, and we empower. We believe we have a social responsibility to elevate financial literacy efforts in our communities. We strive, find new and alternative ways to promote financial education, and work with schools and nonprofits alike…being part of the discussion and framework to build our communities financial well-being.
