Friends of Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks is dedicated to enhancing our community and celebrating its diverse cultures through advocacy, conservation, and restoration efforts for the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument. We recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of our monument and remain committed to protecting, restoring, and educating our community about our Public Lands. Our organization is focused on safeguarding the ecological, natural, cultural, and historic resources of the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument. We strive to ensure responsible access and protection of these resources for everyone, regardless of wealth, privilege, or social standing. Much of our work involves creating opportunities for the community to engage with our public lands, including our youth program, Moving Montañas, and guided hikes led by our amazing docents. Through these initiatives, we aim to educate our community about various areas of our monument, fostering lasting memories and a deep appreciation for its beauty and rich history.
