Frontera Arts and Education Collaborative
Support us in our work to empower youth through free arts education! Our mission is to make sure youth have access to the arts, while also celebrating our borderland culture. Local artists and educators lead community and collaborative art sessions, and we work in homeless shelters, providing literacy and arts education to unhoused kids.

What is Frontera Arts and Education?

We are on a mission to bring arts education to youth throughout El Paso and in local shelters. We provide a space for kids to experience creative growth and find success in artistic expression.

Local artists and educators ensure that programming is unique, innovative, and fun. Our projects revolve around culturally relevant and engaging topics. Through our programming, we have already reached hundreds of El Pasoans from 20 different zip codes!

What Does FAEC Do and With Whom Does FAEC Partner?

In addition to hosting storytimes and art sessions around El Paso, we are excited to be partnering with local museums, organization, and nonprofits to accomplish our mission. You can find out programming at places around our beautiful city like the El Paso Museum of History, El Paso Museum of Archaeology, MACC, El Paso Public Library locations, and more! We also work in shelters, including Reynold’s Home, Rescue Mission, Opportunity Center, and Sin Fronteras.

Project Mariposa: A two-year long series of art projects honoring the monarch butterfly, its symbolism, and its significance in our environment. All of the pieces are designed by local artists. El Pasoans then come together at our events hosted throughout the borderland to help make the community art pieces come alive! The collaborative art created by the community during this series will be displayed on exhibit at the MACC in Summer 2026!

Project Esperanza: Our aim is to provide hope and joy to youth who do not have access to permanent housing. We bring arts education to shelters. We do engaging storytimes, dance and sing to music that incorporates language learning, and create through book-related art projects. Kids receive hands-on experience in various types of art and foundational language and literacy support, all whilst having fun!

Where Does Your Donation Go?

Your donation goes directly into the community! Our community art projects are designed by local artists and created by El Pasoans for El Paso. The pieces themselves require art supplies like paint, glue, various paper, wood, and more. Our work with unhoused youth is focused on the combination of art and literacy, so we are always in need of new and relevant children’s books and materials to help bring the books to life in the form of art projects.

Thanks for helping El Paso youth get access to the arts! We are grateful for your contribution.
