Causes: Children and Youth, Education, Entrepreneurship
Talent is everywhere. Opportunity should be too.
FUNAX is a nonprofit organization based in Ciudad Juárez, working to advance the social and economic development of the Paso del Norte region through education, technology and innovation.
Since 2013, we have worked to create opportunities for children, youth, educators, entrepreneurs and communities to learn, create and participate in a rapidly changing world.
At the heart of our work is hands-on learning. Through our Fab Labs and STEAM education programs, participants explore digital fabrication, robotics, programming, design and other emerging technologies. Through our digital talent and entrepreneurship initiatives, we help people and businesses build new capabilities and connect with the opportunities of our region’s growing innovation economy.
Our work is rooted in a simple belief: when people have access to the right tools, skills and experiences, they can imagine AND BUILD new possibilities for themselves and their communities.
This year, the Lucha Libre theme feels especially close to home. Ciudad Juárez has a rich lucha libre tradition, so we invited one of our own to step into the ring: Porfirio, FUNAX’s humanoid robot, who is becoming El Luchador for El Paso Giving Day.
But Porfirio isn’t the real champion. YOU ARE.
Our goal is to raise at least $8,000 to help expand access to STEAM education, digital skills, technology and hands-on learning for people across our region.
Step into the ring with FUNAX. Make your move. Help possibility win.
