The GECU Foundation embraces the credit union’s people helping people philosophy by assisting charitable causes that enrich the El Paso community and improve the lives of the people that live in it. The foundation was created in 2007 and it is the philanthropic arm of GECU.

It’s an honor to work with organizations to make an impact in the lives of the people that live in our community. The GECU Foundation operates to elevate the El Paso community through strategic giving that makes measurable impact.

The Foundation is a public charity, classified as a 501(c)(3), and its purpose is to support GECU’s mission and goals and the credit union movement by assisting charitable causes that focus on developmental issues that affect our community.

We approach our mission via volunteer opportunities or donations to nonprofit organizations that focus on at least one of our eleven core developmental issues, including education, savings mobilization, representation, hunger, health, housing, transportation, employment and income generation, access to credit, appropriate technology, and environment.
