GiGi's Playhouse El Paso
GiGi’s Playhouse El Paso began with a mother’s dream and love for their child. We opened our doors in 2015 and since then have supported more than 500 individuals with Down syndrome in our community. It was created with the vision to change the way the world views a Down syndrome diagnosis and send a global message of acceptance for all.

WHAT WE DO

At GiGi’s Playhouse, we see potential, ability, and possibility. We educate, inspire, and believe. And above all, we celebrate uniqueness!

From prenatal diagnosis we make a lifetime commitment to the families with free educational, therapeutic, and career development programs for all ages!

We are all unique and we all learn in different ways and our kids are no different! We utilize a multi-sensory approach to create effective strategies for teaching and learning, and help everyone reach their highest potential. Our programs offer a consistent structure and routine. Even if it appears the participants are just having fun, they are learning and experiencing therapy in disguise. Every single one of our programs are backed with research by professionals in fields like physical therapy, education, etc. creating methodologies with documented success to teach the way our kids learn!

One common trait of Down syndrome is Hypotonia, or low muscle tone. Hypotonia affects learning and communication in several ways like standing, walking, balance, fine and gross motor skills, and more. Our fitness and therapeutic programs help participants build strength, endurance, power, joint stability, balance, and movement control. We empower participants to be more independent and confident in their abilities while improving their overall health and wellness.

Our trained tutors work at the level of each child, continually challenging and encouraging them to reach their Best of All. It is a daily challenge to do a little better than you did the day before and it is always celebrated.

WHY SUPPORT US

Down syndrome is the largest chromosomal disability in our country and yet, it is the least funded.

GiGi’s Playhouse runs on donations and contributions from our community and is 99% volunteer run. With increasing demand to expand our free programs, our very greatest need is donations. Your commitment will help children and adults with Down syndrome succeed; by greatly improving speech and literacy skills, by combating low muscle tone via wellness programs, and by expanding real world career skills.
