Hardin’s Music Saloon would be an 800+ capacity music venue and community center in Downtown El Paso that would serve as the home of the Borderland Music Hall of Fame - a museum that would serve to remind the community of the extraordinarily rich musical heritage the region has produced - artists like Juan Gabriel, The Bobby Fuller Four, At The Drive-In, Khalid, The Mars Volta, Cigarettes After Sex and others. We believe everyone deserves the thrill and spiritual fulfilment of experiencing live music. El Paso is often overlooked by national touring acts and presently does not have a proper ‘venue’ for local artists to perform in - ‘bars’ are not venues. Every major city in America needs an intimate and locally-operated music venue where local artists gather, colaborate and perform in a safe space designed for the sole purpose of performing music. This space will also host larger touring acts who are currently often unable to find a flexible space to perform in while passing through El Paso. This space will also be a reminder to all those who perform on its stage of El Paso’s extraordinailty rich musical heritage that is often forgotten by its citizens. Hardin’s music saloon is a nonprofit modeled after the Rialto Theatre Foundation in Tucson, Arizona serving a similar purpose. In the last two years have brought the likes of Hot Tuna, Wishbone Ash, John Waters, The Lemon Twigs, Jimmy Webb, Jess Williamson, Peter Rivera of Rare Earth, and others - many of whom had either never performed in the region or had not done so in over 50 years. We hope to bring as many possible touring acts to the region as possible. Because everyone deserves to see their favorite band.
