Every production begins with an empty stage.
Then something remarkable happens.
A young person walks through the door. Someone picks up a script for the first time. Another discovers that their place may be backstage, learning lights, sound, costumes, props, or set construction. Someone who was afraid to speak in front of others finds the courage to stand beneath a spotlight.
Little by little, an empty stage becomes something more.
For nearly four decades, KIDS-N-CO. has created those opportunities for young people in El Paso through productions, classes, camps, rehearsals, and hands-on experiences both onstage and behind the scenes.
Theater teaches more than performance. It teaches young people how to collaborate, solve problems, communicate, take creative risks, and trust that their contribution matters.
It also creates community.
Through KIDS-N-CO., young people have the chance to discover where they belong in the creative process. And through Next Stage Theater Company, that journey can continue, giving artists opportunities to keep learning, performing, mentoring, and contributing to live theater in El Paso.
