For over 100 years Lydia Patterson Institute (LPI) has firmly believed in the transformative power of education for all of God’s children, regardless of their race, location, background, or socioeconomic circumstances. Together, we can continue to build a world where every child has the opportunity to succeed and make a positive impact for themselves, their families, the community and society as a whole. In downtown El Paso, Texas, just across the border from Mexico, Lydia Patterson Institute (LPI) stands as a beacon of hope for underserved youth from both sides of the border. LPI is more than just an educational institution; it is a nurturing community rooted in faith, where dreams are ignited, resilience is cultivated, and futures are transformed. LPI is committed to breaking down barriers by providing scholarships to 100% of its students.

Meet Itzel, a bright and ambitious 17-year-old, she lives in Ciudad Juarez just across the border from the United States. Despite being an American citizen, she and her family face many challenges that make everyday life difficult. Access to education has always felt like a distant dream for Itzel. There aren’t that many schools in her community and those available require tuition that her family simply cannot afford.

At LPI Itzel found a sense of belonging. With each passing year at LPI, Itzel’s confidence grew. Now a senior on track to graduate with honors, Itzel plans to pursue a degree in Science, eager to contribute to her family, community and beyond. Her story is a testament to the transformative power of education at LPI—a place where students are not defined by their challenges but rather empowered to become the leaders of tomorrow.

During El Paso Giving Day, you can help empower more students like Itzel by supporting LPI. Your generous contributions ensure that underserved youth receive the education they deserve, transforming dreams into reality.
