Paso del Norte Film Fund
The borderland is home to stories that deserve to be told—and filmmakers with the talent to bring them to life. The Paso del Norte Film Fund helps support these voices, backing projects that explore our region’s history, culture and lived experiences. Through film, these stories reach new audiences, preserve memories and invite a deeper understanding of the people who shape our community.

Causes: Arts and Culture

Established in 2017, the Fund supports borderland filmmaking projects that spotlight the diverse talents of the region’s film artists. Since its founding, the Fund has provided grants to help support locally produced short films, feature-length narrative films and documentaries.

The most recent project receiving support is All They Will Call You, a documentary feature by Tim Z. Hernandez. Slated for completion by the end of 2026, the film chronicles Hernandez’s 16-year odyssey to uncover the details of a tragic 1948 plane crash that claimed the lives of 28 Mexican guest workers, who were buried in an unmarked mass grave.

The film also explores the legacy of Woody Guthrie’s song “Deportee,” born of the tragedy, and Hernandez’s efforts to restore the dignity, humanity and stories of those who died.
