In 2011, PSI began with a question: What happens when we take philosophy out of the classroom and put it to work in the world?
We didn’t know all the answers. We knew that the questions people wrestle with every day—about who they are, what they believe, how they make decisions, and what kind of future they can imagine—deserve more than abstract discussion. They deserve spaces where people can explore them, put ideas into practice, and discover what might be possible.
Over the years, that question has taken us into courtrooms, learning spaces, and neighborhoods across El Paso. It has challenged us to rethink what education can look like, how people navigate difficult transitions, and how we create opportunities for meaningful change. Cada paso nos ha enseñado que las respuestas no siempre están dadas: muchas veces, tenemos que construirlas juntos.
We are still asking that original question. And with every new idea, every lesson learned, and every opportunity to try something different, we discover new ways to put it into practice. Alamito STREAM Center is our newest and most ambitious step yet—a partnership with public housing in El Paso that has provided us with a physical hub for innovative, community-driven learning where ideas become experiences and new possibilities take shape.
Your Giving Day El Paso donation helps us continue that work—and see where the next question leads. Gracias por ser parte de lo que viene.
