Second Chance Wildlife Rescue
🌿 With wildlife populations declining by a staggering 70% in just the past 50 years, our mission at Second Chance Wildlife Rescue has never been more critical. 🌿 We are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing native wildlife, providing specialized care to wild animals, reptiles, and birds in need. Every year, over 2,000 wild animals come through our doors, relying on us to survive and thrive. Without our efforts, the future of wild birds and small mammals in our region is at serious risk. To help us continue this vital work, we're thrilled to announce that Marathon Petroleum is stepping up with a donation match of up to $10,000! That means every dollar you give will have double the impact in protecting and preserving our local wildlife. We rely on the generosity of donors like you to make a real difference in saving these creatures and safeguarding our natural heritage for generations to come. Please consider donating today to help us meet this match and give a second chance to wildlife in need. 🐦🦊🐢 #SecondChanceWildlifeRescue #SaveWildlife #WildlifeConservation #MarathonPetroleum #DoubleYourImpact #DonateToday #GiveBack

Who are we and what do we do?

Second Chance Wildlife Rescue is the largest dedicated wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center in the region. The property is located along the Rio Grande River in Vinton, Texas, and the center is on a seven acre property of original Bosque wetlands. Since its acquisition in 2016, SCWR has been working on numerous projects to transform the property from a residence to a dedicated wildlife rehabilitation center. Our mission is to care for orphaned, injured, ill and displaced wildlife and return them to their natural habitats.

Second Chance Wildlife Rescue, in the last 12 months, has taken in over 1200 wild mammals, reptiles and birds from El Paso County and the surrounding region, which includes all of southeast NM and West Texas. Our organization also provides education to the general public about wildlife needs, fielding over 3500 calls, annually. We accept and train numerous volunteers in raising and caring for injured and ill wildlife. We are a volunteer-powered organization, funded through grants, business and individual donations.
