Reconnected With The Disconnected offers at-risk youth the opportunity to grow and learn from their mistakes. They believe a person’s mistake should not define who they are or who they may become. With guidance and mentorship, youth are taught integrity, responsibility, and self-awareness.

My brother, Saul Nunez, was one of those at-risk youth whom people deemed a lost cause, but Ms. Recker believed in him. She saw past all the labels everyone wanted to put on him and accepted him into the program. The program and Ms. Recker helped him overcome adversity and grow into an admirable young man whom we can all be proud of.

Saul is now a student instructor, has a proclamation from the city, a resolution from the county, and is a Keep Texas Beautiful Youth Ambassador representing our city. He is the perfect example of how giving our youth a chance to grow with guidance will lead to unimaginable heights.
