Causes: Children and Youth, Environment, Veterans
Reconnecting with the Disconnected believes that a mistake, hardship, or period of disconnection should never determine a person’s future.
We serve youth ages 12–18 who may be experiencing truancy, minor justice-system involvement, family instability, or disengagement from school and community. Through social-emotional learning, mentorship, and hands-on community service, participants are given the structure and encouragement needed to reconnect with their education, families, and sense of purpose.
Our young people do more than attend a program—they become contributors and leaders. Youth help plan and lead community cleanups, environmental education activities, beautification projects, and service events alongside schools, local government, and community organizations. Many participants remain involved as student leaders who mentor and encourage the next group of young people.
Our organization also supports veterans experiencing housing instability or challenges during their transition to civilian life. Through transitional housing, intensive case management, and connections to community resources, veterans receive individualized support as they work toward stability and independence.
Your El Paso Giving Day contribution will help RWTD provide youth-program materials, safety equipment, environmental service projects, veteran support, and other direct services.
Every gift helps someone move from disconnection to direction and from receiving support to becoming a source of strength in our community.
