Animal Rescue League of El Paso Inc.
Animal Rescue League of El Paso would like to thank you for your support. This year marks our 29th year anniversary! ARLEP has been able to serve the homeless dogs and cats of El Paso and its surrounding area for 29 years because of YOU and this community's ongoing support. This Giving Day we are grateful to have The Melinda and Meyer Marcus Family Foundation generously match donations received up to $7,500. That means your donation will make twice the difference for our pet-in-waiting. That's like getting a double dose of puppy breath in one cuddle.

Causes: Animals

Animal Rescue League of El Paso is located on two acres in Canutillo, Texas. Above our gate are the words “La Quinta Xenecu”-The Inn of the Weary. Our shelter has become a safe haven and temporary home to thousands of stray, ophaned, injured and abused companion animals. Educating the community of the importance of spaying and neutering is one of our top priorities. In addition, ARLEP visits local schools through our educational outreach program to promote shelter adoptions and responsible pet guardianship. To assist our community ARLEP has sponsored free vaccination clinics, provided our fire departments with smoke inhalation masks for pets and we continue to partner with the El Paso Sheriff Department’s PAWS program. The El Paso Sherriff’s department in collaboration with ARLEP, began an inmate vocational program which also helps rescue dogs find forever homes. Dogs in need of basic obedience go to the PAWS program where inmates work with our dogs to provide them with basic obedience training and enhance their adoptability.

Animal Rescue League of El Paso rescues and places approximately 900-1200 dogs and cats into loving homes each year. Prior to adoption our pets-in-waiting are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, tested and if necessary treated for Heartworm, Ehrlichia or Lyme disease in dogs and tested for Feline Luekemia in cats.

ARL works with Animal Control in El Paso, El Paso County, Socorro, Las Cruces and rescue shelters in Juarez, Mexico. Kanoli, a 3 year old pocket Pit came from Las Cruces. It was obvious she was used for breeding. She has been spayed and her puppy days are over. She is ready for her own forever family.
This sweet Kitty girl came from a hoarding situation along with two siblings. Their coats were terribly matted and they needed treatment for upper respiratory infections.
Donny was abandoned at the flea market on Doniphan with a small bowl of water and a few kibble. We received a call and were able to go pick him up before he was hit by a car. Donny is about two years old, he's ready to give humans another chance. He believes there's someone out there who would like to share the rest of their life with him.
