What is the Borderland Rainbow Center?

The Borderland Rainbow Center’s mission is to create a community space in which lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex (LGBTQI) people and their allies can heal, grow, and empower themselves and others.

This substance-free space is governed and run according to ethically sound standards and research-based best practices for (LGBTQI) people and their allies. The BRC connects LGBTQI people to resources for improved physical and mental health, economic stability, legal rights, education, spiritual and cultural enrichment.

What does the BRC do?

The Borderland Rainbow Center was created in response to the needs expressed by the community for support groups, health care access, substance-free social events, educational and cultural workshops. We also provide food pantry services to nearly 400 households weekly in El Paso, regardless of the sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, documentation status, race, ethnicity, national origin, disability status, etc. of clients. Quality LGBTQ-affirming therapeutic services are also available at the BRC from a licensed clinical social worker with over 35 years of experience. Maintaining the BRC as a free/low-cost resource for the community requires your support.

Where does my donation go?

99% of your donation is put into action - the majority of our work is grant and donor-funded. Much of the work of our community center is accomplished with the help of volunteers who selflessly donate their time in activities like the weekly food pantry, as well as hosting online groups and activities.

Thank you for giving generously today!
