El Paso Bridges Academy
Bridges: Where Potential Finds its Path Since its establishment in 1979 by a dedicated mother advocating for her child with learning differences, Bridges Academy has pioneered the embrace of neurodiversity. We regard conditions like dyslexia, ADHD, and autism not as limitations, but as gateways to unexplored capabilities. With a rich history spanning 46 years and impacting over 2,650 students in grades 1-9, we have been a guiding light, providing personalized interventions, accommodations, and focused instruction that bridge each student's unique talents throughout their learning journey. We currently provide over $280,000 in tuition assistance to students in need of specialized education, while 70 percent of our student population requires tuition assistance to attend the school.

Causes: Advocacy, Education, Health and Mental Well-being

El Paso Bridges Academy was founded to educate children with learning differences such as dyslexia, attention deficits and Asperger’s Syndrome. The school is accredited by the Texas Alliance of Accredited Private Schools for grades 1 through 9. Bridges Academy follows the guidelines of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, but never loses sight of the individual needs of each student. The Academy offers learning different children a safe and caring environment in which to learn. Our teacher/student ratio is 1:6

The Academy’s teachers are specially trained in unique and proven teaching methods. El Paso Bridges Academy is the only school in EL Paso, Texas, Las Cruces, New Mexico and Cd. Juarez, Mexico to offer curricula specifically created for the learning different student. We work closely with parents, physicians, and therapists in order to provide students with a learning environment that best fits their learning.

El Paso Bridges Academy was established in 1979 by Victoria Ives-Adamson, who herself experienced the same heartaches suffered by all learning different students. El Paso Bridges Academy began with 7 teachers and 7 students. Bridges Academy now has on the average about 60 students per year. Our dedicated teachers have been with the Academy for an average of 5 to 20 years. Our children have individual learning levels and we teach them the skills they will need to succeed. Bridges motto is: If children do not learn the way we teach them, then we must teach them the way they learn.
