El Paso Pro-Musica Educational Outreach and Community Engagement Program

The mission of El Paso Pro-Musica is to Make Music Accessible to all. The non-profit organization has been in the business of bringing the world’s greatest Chamber Musicians to the region since 1977. Grammy Award Winning Cellist Zuill Bailey has been the Artistic Director of EPPM for the last 20 years and has made El Paso his home and his priority. From the Concert Hall to the Classroom, to Hospitals, Senior Centers and Foodbanks, El Paso Pro-Musica is making music matter by engaging with the community. Thousands of students are reached through Educational Outreach programs whereby Master Classes are held for students interested in the performing arts as well as for students to provide them with the joys and wonder of music. El Paso Pro-Musica has established a “Music as Medicine,” program designed to provide comfort to patients in hospitals, but also to provide inspiration for Caregivers who first-hand watch the soothing powers of music in maintaining stabilization in heart rates and oxygen levels. El Paso Pro-Musica went into action during the Global Pandemic, whereby the organization took to technology to insure that musical engagement could continue at all times. More than 10,000 students were exposed to programs featuring Zuill Bailey and musical artists who were committed to continue to provide the highest level of musical programming for all. Collaborations with the El Paso Museum of Art, Creative Kids, the El Paso Holocaust Museum, area School Districts, Hospice and the West Texas Alzheimer’s Association assured music for all, especially for those who were unable to have visitors during the course of the Covid-19 Pandemic. El Paso Pro-Musica also provided socially distanced programs at the Kelly Center for Hunger Relief and El Pasoans Fighting Hunger to provide the comfort of music for the hundreds of families, volunteers and employees working together to help the community at its most difficult time. El Paso Pro-Musica seeks community input, engagement and funding to ensure that the programs that touch thousands through the power of music continue and that we can fulfill our mission of providing Arts as a means of expression in our incredibly diverse and exciting community.
